The problem is, however, that they just left the Alliance. Upon receiving word, Anasterian and the High Elf hierarchy get serious very fast, as they realize the real scope of the threat now baring down upon the Eastern Kingdoms. The intro mission for the Alt-Alliance campaign would then actually center upon a High Elf character (Kael'thas? Sylvanas?) coming across the first landing parties of the Scourge and Legion, as well as hearing the warnings of the night elves. Upon seeing this, the Horde and Sentinels send a few forces back east in an attempt to warn the Alliance and get them to fight the Legion both there and potentially send reinforcements to Kalimdor. This ends up denying Archimonde the power he so craved, even if he got earlier revenge against the night elves. Still, I think I can add that in with a slight revision:įor whatever reason, Archimonde and his forces turn east and look to claim the power of the various arcane sites there, perhaps because he is angry that the Scourge Leader(s) defied his orders in a battle against Tyrande and Malfurion, with the latter being able to sabotage the summoning ritual and seal off the Well of Eternity from Archimonde even if they couldn't stop a partial siphoning from summoning him. Oops, sorry, forgot about the HE-NE narrative thread from earlier in the proposal. I'm unsure about is the Well being used to summon Archimonde given he seemingly wanted to absorb it for its power in canon and I confess some confusion as to why Thrall sails West, did Medivh send him to be reinforcements for the NE? I confess given the original idea was the HE working with the NE, this is quite a switch, but also very interesting and does work well for giving the Orcs a solid and proper redemption arc and also showing the more shitty aspects of the Alliance, so kudos! This recipe will be green for the last points, so you might need to make more or fewer, it depends on your luck.OK this is super awesome and well thought out, great idea with the wisps actually being corruptable to the point where they can be directed against the Night Elves and also on using the whole Undead thing as a means to turn Fandrel to their side, that is super clever! It makes sense that spectral soldiers would pose a problem, even after ten thousand years the NE haven't managed to remove the ghosts in many areas of the land, so while they might disperse them for a time, they just reform in time and return.
